What Are Dentures and Partials?

Dentures and partials are removable oral prosthetic devices. Complete dentures are used to replace entire arches of missing teeth, while partial dentures are used when some natural, healthy teeth remain.

Complete Dentures: We are pleased to offer immediate and conventional dentures.

  • Immediate (Healing) Dentures: These interim dentures are positioned right after removing any remaining teeth. During healing, the mouth will change in shape, so the immediate dentures typically require relining and adjustments for long-term use.
  • Conventional Dentures: Conventional dentures are made from impressions of your mouth after healing is complete. They take into account the subtle details of your gums and bite, providing the best fit, comfort, and function.

Partial Dentures: We are pleased to offer traditional and flexible partial dentures.

  • Traditional Partials: Traditional partials come with aesthetic replacement teeth secured to metal frameworks. They are secured to your natural teeth using metal clasps or precision attachments.
  • Flexible Partials: These partial dentures are made from a flexible material that blends seamlessly with your smile. They offer a comfortable tooth replacement solution for those with more sensitive gums.
  • Complete Dentures:

Step 1: For immediate or healing dentures, we will take impressions of your mouth to prepare your restorations ahead of time and position them after extracting any remaining teeth. We offer soft liners during the healing phase for enhanced comfort and function.

Step 2: After about a year, when the healing is complete, we will create your permanent dentures from impressions of your mouth, providing the best possible fit, comfort, and function. We will also perform a hard reline of your healing dentures to keep them as a backup set.

Step 3: Ongoing Maintenance: We offer denture relines and repair to ensure your dentures maintain the best possible fit and function.

    Traditional Partial Dentures:

Step 1: We may recommend the removal of teeth with irreparable damage and addressing any problems with the remaining teeth, such as tooth decay or gum disease.

Step 2: Once the anchor teeth are stable, we will take 3D impressions that our dental lab will use to create your restoration, closely matching them to your remaining teeth. We may ask you to return for a preliminary try-in to ensure your partial denture’s framework provides a perfect fit.

Step 3: When your new partial dentures are ready, we’ll ensure they provide the best possible fit. If you feel any sore or uncomfortable spots in the days following denture placement, we will make any adjustments needed for your comfort.

  • They Look Natural: Complete and partial dentures are custom crafted to match your smile, delivering beautifully natural results.
  • They Improve Chewing and Speech: Your restoration will complete your smile, making it easier to chew your food and speak clearly.
  • They Support Your Facial Structure: Dentures and partials support your facial muscles and structure, maintaining your youthful contours.
  • They Enhance Your Oral Health: Partial dentures help prevent your remaining teeth from shifting toward gaps in your smile, safeguarding your oral health.
  • They Are Cost Effective: Dentures offer a cost-effective tooth replacement solution compared to other dental restoration options, like dental implants.
  • They Boost Your Confidence: Restoring missing teeth will boost your self-esteem and have you smiling with confidence once again.
